Are these desktop pets really free?
Yes. Free pets in the shop install with one click and never ask for payment — no trial, no watermark, and no account needed. The DeskSprite app itself and the built-in pet are free too.
What's the catch?
There isn't one on the free pets. DeskSprite makes money from an optional membership that unlocks the premium shop pets and AI customization — free pets stay free, and petpack updates are free for every pet.
Do I need an account to adopt a free pet?
No. Free shop pets install straight from the app: open the DeskSprite app, find the pet under the My Pet tab and click "Get". An account is only needed for the extras — AI customization, membership, and claiming gift pets.
How do I bring a free pet to my desktop?

Do free pets work on Mac?
